Wondering about the future or status of CodeDesigner?
I would first like to thank all our loyal customers who have continued to use our software products over the years. It’s this loyal customer base that ultimately prompted me to finally breathe some life back into the site and our Software.
What happened?
CSMicro Systems has always been a One Man shop with the occasional help from friends and family. What started as a simple consulting company quickly turned into a software company with the release of CodeDesigner. Due to the lack of windows development tools for the PicBasic Compiler I created the CodeDesigner IDE to ease my development effort. The software was originally released February 28th 2000 on the picBasic list.
As many of you have probably noticed CSMicro Systems has been on hiatus for many years now. This was unfortunately brought on by financial difficulties that forced me to shift focus. Behind the scenes I have sporadically worked on updates and came very close to releasing a redesigned version that just never quite got finished. Ultimately the decision to stop supporting it completely was due to a hard drive crash that caused the last round of updates to be lost and rendered my old development computer inoperable.
What’s going on now?
Its been 10 years since its first release and 6 years since its last update yet people still continue to download, use, and request updates for CodeDesigner / CDLite. This continued loyalty has prompted me to do something with the site and software.
So are you going to update it or what?
In short, Yes!
After much thought I have scrapped the “redesigned” unreleased version of CodeDesigner in favor of a new design I recently started working on. Previews and additional details of this new version will trickle out over the coming months.
Until then please send me emails with questions, suggestions, and comments.
Regards,
Ken Brown –CSMicro Systems
