This adapter allows you to use microEngineering Labs programming adapters and LAB-X Experimenter Boards with the Microchip ICD and ICD2.  It also works in the opposite direction, allowing you to connect a project board with the Microchip ICD connector to one of our programmers.

To adapt a 6-pin ICD connection to a 10-pin melabs ICSP header, just plug the modular cable from the Microchip ICD2 (not included) into the adapter and connect the 10-pin ribbon to the ICSP header found on a programming adapter or LAB-X board.

To adapt an melabs 10-pin connection to a 6-pin ICD port on your project board, move the ribbon to the input side of the adapter and use it to connect to one of our programmers.  Use a 6-pin modular cable (not included), to connect to the ICD port.

With the proper adapter, the ICD(2) can be used to program loose surface mount, PLCC, and DIP packages. The ICD(2) can be used with a LAB-X board to program a part in-circuit and step through the code for debugging.

Use of this adapter requires a short 6-pin modular cable that is not included.  Microchip includes this cable with their ICD2, and a 6-inch version is available for purchase.
